Do you love ooey, gooey, gourmet cinnamon rolls but think they’re too hard to make? While some recipes make you jump through hoops, slow cooker cinnamon rolls are a breeze to whip up. If you follow this recipe, you’ll have delicious cinnamon rolls in less than three hours. Does that sound tempting or what? Let’s dig in!

Make the Dough

Start by making the dough. You’ll need:

  • ¾ cup of whole milk
  • 1 packet of instant yeast
  • ¼ cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of granulated sugar
  • ¾ teaspoon of salt
  • ¼ cup of unsalted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 and ¾ cups of all-purpose flour

Melt the butter and let it cool a bit. Then, microwave the milk until it’s lukewarm. Pour it into a mixing bowl and add the yeast and one teaspoon of granulated sugar. Use a handheld mixer or a paddle attachment on your stand mixer to whisk it together. Once it’s mixed, place a towel over the bowl and cover it for 5–10 minutes. It should look foamy when you uncover it.

Then, put your mixer on low speed and combine two cups of flour and ¼ cup of sugar with the butter, salt, and egg. Next, add in another ¼ cup of flour and mix it. Continue to do this until all of the flour is added.

After the dough is ready, lightly spread flour on a surface and place the dough on top. Knead the dough for a full minute and then let it sit for 10 minutes.

While you wait for the next step, you can get your slow cooker ready by lining it with greased parchment paper.

Make the Filling

Next, you’ll be ready to make the filling. You’ll need:

  • 5 tablespoons of very soft unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup of granulated sugar

Roll out your dough, so it’s 14×8 inches. Then, put the softened butter on top of the dough, spreading it evenly. Combine the sugar and cinnamon, mix it, and add it to the top of the dough. Next, tightly roll up the dough. Once rolled, cut it into 12 pieces.

After, transfer the dough into the slow cooker. Put a paper towel under the slow cooker’s lid and close it. Turn it to high and cook it for two hours. If the cinnamon rolls aren’t fluffy, cook it for a bit longer. Then, take them out of the slow cooker.
